The Hipac range of door closers has been specifically designed to minimise ligature risks and work in conjunction with full length hinges. By design they are concealed when installed to further minimise risk of ligature and tampering. -

The range includes options that are wall mounted as well as floor mounted to accommodate a range of door configurations. They are engineered to be robust and minimise ligature and self-harm opportunities. Correct use of a door stop is essential for the protection of doors, walls, and for staff and patient safety. -
Frame Stops (2)
Hipac’s range of frame stops are a simple but effective solution for doors at risk of barricading. They work in conjunction with double swing hinges that allow the door to swing inward normally, however, can be unlocked allowing the door to swing outward and away from an internal barricade. They are designed to be robust and allow for safe operation for both staff and patients. -

The Hipac range of ligature alarms are designed to detect ligature attempts and alert staff. These products can be integrated with staff attack or nurse call systems to ensure staff are alerted to a ligature attempt and are able to intervene in a timely manner. Ligature alarms are an important consideration in the design of doors within mental health facilities where it isn’t possible to minimise the ligature risk through design or constant observation. -

The Victoria Clinic, a renowned mental health facility in the Melbourne suburb of Prahan, has undergone a $50 million upgrade. The clinic provides comprehensive mental healthcare to the local community with a team of accredited psychiatrists and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. The upgraded Victoria Clinic now offers more beds, 20 new consulting suites, 15 additional psychiatrist and over 200 staff. The facility will provide diverse inpatient treatments, including ECT services, SCHEMA therapy, EMDR therapy, and TMS.
